Hungarian Prime Minister: EU Needs New Energy Policy

Hungarian Prime Minister Orban held talks with visiting German Alternative Party co chairman Alice Weddell in Budapest on February 12th local time, and then both sides attended a press conference together.

Orban stated at a press conference that the two sides focused on discussing their views on the European immigration crisis during the talks. Like the Hungarian government, the Alternative Party has been committed to cracking down on illegal immigration for many years. He stated that the economies of Hungary and Germany are very close, and if the German economy can achieve success again, Hungary will gain new economic vitality.

When talking about the EU's economic policies, Orban said that the EU needs a new energy policy, including lifting sanctions on energy, abandoning discriminatory policies against nuclear energy, and restarting closed energy transportation pipelines.
