On February 7th, the 9th Asian Winter Games (hereinafter referred to as the "Asian Winter Games") opened in Harbin, China. It is reported that for the first time, the Asian Winter Games will achieve 100% green power supply during the renovation and construction of competition venues and supporting facilities, as well as during the testing and main competition periods. As an important energy guarantee force for this grand event, CGN New Energy has taken active actions and made every effort to provide high-quality clean energy for the Asian Winter Games, demonstrating the responsibility of central enterprises.
It is reported that CGN Heilongjiang New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Heilongjiang Company"), a subsidiary of CGN New Energy, was established in September 2009. As of now, it has fourteen wind farms, five decentralized and six photovoltaic power plants under its jurisdiction, covering Harbin, Qiqihar and other places. The cumulative investment in Heilongjiang exceeds 12.8 billion yuan, and the installed capacity under operation and construction exceeds 2.35 million kilowatts, ranking among the top three in the province in terms of installed capacity.
Since the preparation for the Asian Winter Games, Heilongjiang Shimenshan Wind Farm, a subsidiary of Heilongjiang Company, has supplied 1.98 million kilowatt hours of green electricity to the venues through State Grid Comprehensive Energy Company. This electricity is used to support venue construction and pre competition testing, and serves as a backup power station to support the power supply for the main competition.
In addition, since the Spring Festival, the centralized control center of Heilongjiang Company and the operation and maintenance personnel of various stations have been on duty 24 hours a day and night, with more than 230 power protection personnel and 51 power protection vehicles deployed. During the period from the Spring Festival to the Asian Winter Games, they will hold their posts for a total of 432 hours, monitor the real-time operation status of equipment, and ensure the safety and reliability of power supply. Data shows that from January 2025 to present, Heilongjiang Company has generated over 309 million kilowatt hours of electricity, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 249100 tons, helping to create a green and low-carbon ice and snow event and lighting up the Asian winter with green electricity.
